Religion is fascinated with death, immortality, and extravagance, so too is Hip Hop culture in our contemporary society. This project takes characteristics that societies consider to be Hip Hop in culture and combining with characteristics that societies consider to be devout religious culture under the common guise of death.

As Western society have become somewhat detached from the concept of death, this publication aims to inform and visually stimulate its reader on a journey that examines a form of cultural expression -namely, rap music- and look at its validity for biblical interpretation. Through the institutions of religious preaching, rap music, and social cultural essays, we analyze their shared views of salvation through death, violence, patriarchal views and extravagant wealth, as both hip hop culture and Catholicism are heavily preoccupied with death, power and belonging.
