Editorial for Pap Magszine When punk was spat out onto the scene in the 70s, the world was ready to be shocked by one of most impetus and disruptive subcultures, sometimes described as the first unisex youth movement. Punk was about attitude, ideas; by definition, it was both derisive and fluid. Do It Yourself’ is a hallmark ethic of traditional punk spirit – safety pin earrings, anarchistic music styles, handmade fanzines. In the nineties, punk has been redefined by the rejection of th the substantial male-dominated scene, through the new style, music and manifesto of Riot Grrrl. Fighting against patriarchal culture and the hyper machinist approach of the genre, Riot Grrrl tried to push the line into a more inclusive, gender equal scene. In today's punks movements, a new generation of young misfits are shifting the ideals into a more racial and gender inclusive revolution, expanding outside the western world and growing countries where freedom is still a battle towards political and religious oppression..
