Unsigned Volume 1

  • Quadri Haruna

Unsigned Collection is a series of eclectic compilation albums to discover emerging musical talents throughout the United Kingdom. Each volume in the series focuses on artists and bands from a specific region or county, highlighting the musical diversity found in various communities across the nation.

Unsigned Collection, launched on December 6, 2023. Volume 1 highlights musicians from Kent. The exclusive CD format allows featured artists to stand out from the vast amount of digital music, albums, and playlists released daily.

The compilation CDs are promoted and distributed not only to music fans but throughout the music industry, this includes record labels, radio stations, live venues, media outlets, and record shops. The nostalgic approach recaptures the excitement of discovering new music in record shops. News of the project resonated quickly within the Kentish music scene. This led to opportunities to discuss and promote Unsigned Collection on local radio stations. It was soon featured on The Unsigned Guide industry news and advice blog and newsletter. This unexpected exposure generated a vast number of submissions from across the UK and abroad.
On March 17th, after three months of reviewing over 400 submissions from Kent-based artists and bands, we announced our top 20 selections for Unsigned Volume 1. These include Daniel McGuinness, Aid Lewis, Seek Harbor, Blaize China, Lee Willz, Kali, Jude Ness, Little Tealeif, Char.b, The King Rooks, grassmell, Charles HS, Kid Hue, The Super Micks, We Found The Wreck, Chidimma, Megan Wardroper, Matthew Wright, Jasmin Fairhall, and a track featuring Isabella Coulstock from The Midnight River Crew.   Unsigned Volume 1 was released on April 12th and made available for free in record shops across Kent.
