The best things in life are impossible to define

Untaggable: #city

Genre-blurring vocalist Gaika teams up with director collective Factory Fifteen for a dreamlike world tour of the urban experience

A dynamic study of four extraordinary cities is the latest film in Audi’s series exploring how the best things in life are impossible to define.
Cut to the sound of a bespoke track by genre-blurring vocalist Gaika—known for taking London’s underground music scene by storm before being signed to Warp records in 2016—the film sees Kibwe Tavares and Jonathan Gales of south London-based director collective Factory Fifteen trail a host of colorful characters through London, New Orleans, Tokyo and La Paz.
Captured across continents, each moment is stitched to the next to create a hybrid metropolis that embodies the global nature of the urban experience in a single breathtaking panorama.

Untaggable: The meaning of #breakfast

A glimpse at what the first meal of the day says about each of us for Audi

For the latest installment of the Untaggable series, Audi enlisted director and magazine editor James Casey to explore our different approaches to the morning routine.
The creative director, known for founding “anti-foodie food magazine” Swallow, and his work for titles such as Wallpaper* and The New York Times, followed a cross-section of Los Angeles's diverse residents to their morning tables—all the way from a classic roadside diner to a Buddhist temple.

Untaggable: What is #perfection?

Director Chelsea McMullan catches all that goes into an Olympic-level move in a new film for Audi

An emotion-packed portrait of gymnastic intensity is the first film in a new series for Audi—exploring how the best things in life are impossible to define. Director Chelsea McMullan captures American athlete Jordan Chiles as she tackles an Amânar vault, one of the most difficult moves in gymnastics.
“Motion and emotions all swirl together,” says Toronto-based McMullan, who intercut shots of the manoeuvre with moments of a young Chiles at home, cartwheeling around the garden, playing with friends, and training. “Viewers can hopefully recognize themselves in the piece. We are all made up of our own unique personal histories—a million imperfect moments make us perfectly who we are."

Untaggable: How does #music move us?

A soundtrack from Mark Pritchard featuring Thom Yorke accompanies an exploration of our relationship to sound for Audi

London-based filmmakers Shynola delve into the personal nature of music in a new video for our series with Audi. Known for their videos for Hot Chip, Tiësto and Coldplay, the film collective captures two dancers as they perform different interpretations of the same choreography—to the sound of a new track from Warp producer Mark Pritchard, featuring vocals from Radiohead’s Thom Yorke. Here, director Richard Kenworthy talks about the inspiration behind the video:
“We filmed two fantastic dancers over one hundred miles apart and on separate days, then brought their performances together through meticulous editing. The natural way their movement merges veils the complexity of how it was made.
“The film explores how we are attracted to and respond to music; how music can mean different, personal things to very different people separated by time and space, but also how the same piece of music can unify them.”
