Unveiled Magazine

  • Sharin Hussain

An online and printed magazine I created as a voice for the BAME (Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic) community as my final major project for university. The online magazine is also a way to discuss current news events and focus on real issues and problems that people face in their everyday life and provides a voice for taboo topics that are not represented in major commercial media. The media has a way of twisting what is true and what is not and this platform wants to share the reality of it all. The negative impact that is given to the Muslim community, to black lives matter and to other minorities in the media is a reflection on what isn’t being said but needs to. It is a way for our voices to be heard. It’s a chance for us to say no and really tell you who we are and what we stand for. Mainstream magazine love talking about what’s current but what about what’s real? It’s no good publishing a serious subject if change isn’t happening and with Unveiled, we hope that a chain reaction for change will begin.
