Unwanted

The project Unwanted discovers the hidden beauty within photographic failure in various aspects. It examines the capability of instant Polaroid photography to replicate the memories accurately. Whether it was a technical malfunction or personal choice for rejection, the project delves into a broader cultural investigation of the truthfulness in photography. Specifically, the collapse of a photographic process, which had the potential of reproducing the reality. Which ultimately leads to questions about our desires of what photography should be able to do. In other words, an instant decision for successes and failures. The project consists of collected original Polaroid photographs which have been rejected as a result of “failure”. Inability to reconnect to the memories caused by a ruin to capture the specific view or the catastrophe within the camera and its abilities. Unwanted analyses the contrast between the intention and the outcome.
