The event, saw the presentation of 11 awards – including a Special Recognition award for Dany Cotton, the Commissioner of London Fire Brigade, for her contribution in promoting positive mental health across the fire service.
Falling in the 75th anniversary year of The Fire Fighters Charity – the UK’s leading provider of health and wellbeing services for the fire community – the Spirit of Fire Awards was hosted by BBC Newsreader, Nicholas Owen.
Speaking of Elvis & Kresse’s Supporter of The Year – Non-Beneficiary award, Chief Executive of The Fire Fighters Charity, Dr Jill Tolfrey, said: “Kresse and James’s commitment to donate 50% of Elvis & Kresse’s profits from its hugely successful fire hose range has meant that The Fire Fighters Charity received £28,000 from the company in 2017 alone. Not only is their ethos of recycling old fire hose, saving it from ending up in landfill, an admirable and worthy principle, but their decision to support our Charity has meant that – through their good will – each person who buys a bag, belt or wallet from Elvis & Kresse is directly helping us to deliver life enhancing support to a member of the fire community. This award is therefore thoroughly deserved and I am grateful to both Kresse and James for their continued support.”
