Victoria and Albert Museum, invitation

The V&A commissioned Lombaert Studio to design the invitations for the opening of their major capital build project, the Exhibition Road Quarter. The two invitations are a graphic celebration of the new building architecture. The first invitation represents the dazzling porcelain-tiled courtyard with its inscribed graphic lines in blue, red and yellow. The second one takes its lines from the faceted origami ceiling of the Sainsbury Gallery. Foil and debossing echo the texture and depth of the architecture while making the invitation a precious collectible of this milestone event.
