Vinyl Artwork

The aim for this brief was to redesign a vinyl cover for a chosen song of my choice which had a particular message or theme that focused on using typography. I chose to use the song Xanny by Billie Eilish which spreads a message on the abuse and side effects of the drug Xanax which is used to treat anxiety disorders. My vinyl design outcome uses a strong and vibrant typographic design which is visibly striking to the eye. The typeface for the title has been created to show a resemblance to pills which informs the viewer the song is about a drug. The words "I don't need a..." is heavily repeated in a top to bottom visual hierarchy. This subliminally connects the viewer to feel aware of anxiousness as well as the withdrawal symptoms of the drug. It also relates to the distorted bass and effects used on Billie Eilish's vocals The outcomes also consisted of designing a poster, hoodie and a digital element.
