Within this project we were given a list of Artists to which we had to chose and then design a vinyl cover for there single. This design is for Chvrches - Clearest Blue my aim was to create an unusual sleeve that will relate not only to the song title but also to the bands sense of style and how they are portrayed. I decided to take a photography of condensation on the window with hand prints as i believe this gives an interesting textured feel and the way in which the light comes across is not only to make the piece look more intriguing but also links i with the lyrics of the song. I aimed to make it look as though it was a face with hands pressed up against the condensation which resembles how the person feels trying to push someone away, with the drips of water showing the sadness within.
The bottom pattern was to resemble the musical element of Chvrches as they are an electronic band who use synths and samples alongside with the usual musical instruments, therefor my aim was to create an interesting almost electric looking sound wave by not only the shape but by adding a grainy texture. I chose these colours as i believe the contrast between the two elements works really well.
