Wall hangers set

Ecal x Marsotto Lab 2018 Inspiration for this family of marble wall hangers was the traditional Chinese musical instrument, the ruan. The design is a play with the material. I wanted to find the limits of the stone’s strength, on a quest to represent the object visually with the smallest possible sections. Throughout the process I was tuning in to the material, just like an instrument needs to be tuned before it can start to play in perfect harmony. Placed in a corridor, this piece sets the mood for our home, making it more welcoming. The family consists of two hangers (vertical and horizontal), that allow you to create compositions on the wall, especially in public spaces such as restaurants or hotels. photos: Younes Klouche
