Watercolor Landscape

The precursor of watercolor painting was fresco painting. Watercolor was used to paint the walls on wet plaster, a clear example of this technique is the painting of the Sistine Chapel (Vatican), begun in 1508 and completed in 1514. In the fifteenth century, Dürer was imposed as a great painter watercolorist .
