This bathroom project in Hackney focuses on prophylaxis healing. I aimed to answer some questions: how do our bodies respond to buildings? How can we adapt our homes to prevent illnesses? The research began my interest in thinking how buildings could evolve over time, much like a living organism. Working for us, not against. Could we have a symbiotic relationship to where we live?

Along one wall, sensors were used to capture different frequencies emitted by the potted plants as they communicate with the environmental changes within the room. The plant wave captures these signals at frequencies beyond the human perceptual spectrum into a real-time musical soundscape
Using an algorithm, the client will input data about moods and the frequency of her migraine attacks. Over time, the lighting and soundscape of the room, connected to this algorithm, will adapt and predict when such lighting is necessary.
