Website Design: Fallas De Valencia
Here is a project I created in response to a brief to build a website on Abode Muse for a festival or concert. I chose to focus my website on the festival named 'Fallas de Valencia', a festival which occurs in Valencia every spring to commemorate Saint Joseph. The festival itself holds multiple activities and events with is most notable event being 'Cavalcada del Foc', a celebration of fire where floats, giant mechanisms, costumes and rockets fill the streets of Valencia before later that night the Floats are set on fire to represent the end of the festival.
When creating the website I was inspired to explore a new style that isnt commonly used on website design. Being inspired from the craftmanship of the 'Fallas', I wanted to include an element or a reference to craft within my design. Therefore I chose to develop my website in a style similar to paper craft with layered vector layers emulating the effect.
Another element I decided to pursue was creating every page to on website in a different colour. Although this may seem jarring or over stimulating, I wanted to capture the busy streets of Valencia during this festival and the wide variety of colours and shapes that are on display throughout.
