Website revamp for one of the country’s best-known production companies
For over 20 years, the renowned, independent production company, Icon Films, have been at the forefront of factual content. With productions like Savage Kingdom which premiered on National Geographic and River Monsters on Animal Planet, Icon Films are constantly producing innovative, hard hitting productions that are instantly recognisable.
The brief
Icon Films were in need of a new website which reflected their ambition, size, commerciality, creativity, diversity, innovation and potential in production. The site needed to clearly demonstrate the success of the company over the last 27 years, as well as their future growth in the industry. ORCA were proudly chosen as Icon Films’ digital partner, tasked with revamping their portfolio website and with reinvigorating their online portfolio to showcase their ever-growing library of productions.
The outcome
We created a brand new CMS website for Icon Films, which showcases the high calibre content that they are renowned for producing. The aesthetic and functionality clearly demonstrate and emphasise the ambition and excellence that filter into each and every production.
Understanding the industry
It was imperative that the website used a modern approach, which spoke the true values of the company, and stayed on-brand with Icon Films’ current image. ORCA have worked with a number of film production companies, including Mechanical Mouse and Sounds Commercial, and so were really excited to work with another iconic Bristol brand on updating their website offering.
The outcome
Revamping the digital presence of such a renowned and accomplished production giant is no easy task. The team at ORCA were keen to get under the skin of the Icon Films brand and to understand what fuels their creative process. Through a highly collaborative process, working alongside key Icon team members, we have produced a new portfolio website which will stand the test of time and propel Icon Films into the next generation of film making and production.
