This photographic project was inspired by multiple sources, including George Orwell’s ‘1984,’ Edward Hopper’s evocative portrayal of alienation, and the captivating aesthetics of cyberpunk culture. Through photography and visual storytelling, my project aims to represent the solitude, isolation, and existential disconnection experienced by individuals inside the towering structures and impersonal urban landscapes. Just as Orwell’s dystopian vision depicted the oppressive control of the Party in Airstrip One, this project aims to examine the subtle yet pervasive forces that contribute to the alienation of modern citizens. In a society where capitalism reigns supreme and individualist values overshadow the sense of community, we are entangled in a web of consumerism, manipulation, and surveillance. With the ominous prospect of our contemporary reality, I aim to visually represent my personal experiences and reflections on the societal landscape.
