Dr Martin Luther King, Nelson Mendela, Susan Cain, Jane Goodall. They are known around the world for their leadership and influential ideas, but would they have been able to influence the world had they not developed their ability to speak in public?
In this workshop hosted by London Business School Toastmasters Public Speaking Club, we'll explore how public speaking goes beyond addressing a public. It involves using skills you already have: telling stories, sharing knowledge about a subject you’re an expert in, or pitching your ideas to others. Other times, it involves stepping out of your comfort zone and developing new skills such as learning to listen, to lead and to influence. And that's what we can help with.
By the end of the workshop, you'll get:
an understanding of what speakers need to consider when delivering a speech
a core structure to build a compelling speech
a list of techniques to make your address further stand out
You may decide to give yourself more time before you take up public speaking after this workshop, but one thing is sure – you’ll realise you already have more than you know to speak in front of a crowd.
