To create an interactive sonic installation by collaborating with the public. Elements of the experience will be performative to enable outreach and so it will need to be supported by performers. WHAT'S ON YOUR MIND is a brave new initiative, a 4 day social experience were we will run public workshops, interactive installations and sonic art to create or redefine a sense of community in groups of people that may not know each other or have lost contact. After preliminary research, we will select a location/ space that may be in danger becoming an inactive/abandoned space, somewhere that a community is losing touch with. WHAT'S ON YOUR MIND is an investigation into the possible forms of inter-personal dialogue. The project aims to make the inhabitants of a city/ the members of a community, an active and substantial component within the creative process that underlies a public performance/ installation. We will work with the public through workshops to uncover forgotten places and look into the history of a location, to then use our findings to create an interactive sonic social experience/installation. WHAT'S ON YOUR MIND - This is the phrase that a billion and a half people read every day. With 2.27 billion total users, Facebook is the most popular social network in the world. And every day, the algorithm asks us what is in our mind. This message, bypasses our consent, and fast-tracks itself through the barriers of privacy and intimacy, resulting in a public monologue between the individual and a robot. People find it easier to share who we are on an online platform in exchange for 'likes', 'hearts', 'retweets'. Yet in real life, it is becoming much more difficult to start a conversation with people you live around. Resulting in technology having a very negative effect on social mobility. Leading to isolation, loneliness and desolate/ inactive social spaces.
