When the Dead come to town

  • Maho Irigoyen

Once a year, Mexicans call back their dead ones to eat, drink and dance with them. Elaborate offerings are made and parades are thrown to celebrate the lives of those who passed away, and welcome them for a short visit. In Oaxaca, a state in the south, Day of the Dead is one of the most important festivities, and it's carried out with both great joy and sadness.
