Exhibition that speculated on possible futures for the artist book.
Responding to a global open-call, over 1300 applications became ten commissioned works. Bridging traditional bookmaking techniques with both analogue and digital technologies, the works came together to explore the materiality, form and physicality of books. Projects manifested not only in print formats, but as expanded installations sited within gallery three at the Whitechapel Gallery in London.
Unbinding the Book was presented as part of London Art Book Fair and was further installed at the public gallery, London College of Communication.
