  • Shelley Huang

WILD CARD is an engaging, intellectually stimulating board game that challenges players to test their knowledge and understanding of different themes. The versatility of the board game makes it suitable for any occasion whether that is at school, with family or as a drinking game with friends; the concept of the board game stays the same but the questions and cards differ depending on the players age and their chosen theme. The neutral colour consideration and the universal nature of the board game means that only one version needs to be produced and is targeted at a larger audience of all ages and backgrounds. The box becomes part of the toy itself with the board game doubling-up as the box, where the additional game pieces can be stored. The name ‘WILD CARD’ represents the uncertainty and unknown of which the player will land on and which challenge card they will receive. The players will have to expect the unexpected. The board game is universal and can be played by people of all ages. The design has been kept simple, using neutral colours and a basic layout and principle for everyone to understand. An app has also been created so that people with smart phones can access more questions and options rather than having to re-purchase new card packs. The physical cards are mainly intended for the use of schools where phones are not allowed but where the board game may be beneficial in the learning process but also is fun.
