I travelled to Bradwell on Sea for a collaboration with the wonderful Rose (@rose merchant photography on instagram). It was an incredible shoot and great to get back to doing the things I love. We spent the weeks leading up to the shoot devising a mood board together over Pinterest, which I found very helpful since it gave me ideas for posing styles and facial expressions - and ensured we were on the same page. I would recommend photographers doing this with their models before shoots as it means the specified outcome of the shoot will always be achieved. I would say this photoshoot demonstrated my commitment to the art. After shooting for two hours and capturing all the photos we planned on taking on the beach, Rose and I spontaneously decided to shoot some pictures in the water (scroll down). I was in a black floor length dress, yet I enthusiastically agreed as I knew going outside my comfort zone was the very thing I needed to do in order to expand my experience as a model. Into the cold water we went and it was quite a challenge since the weight of the dress increased with the water soaking through it. Despite this, we caught some beautiful moments on camera and I learned so much from thinking outside the box and delving headfirst into an alternative idea.
