Wiyi Yani U Thangani (Women's Voices)

  • Grace Hallam

Wiyi Yani U Thangani (Women's Voices) is a multi-year initiative that aims to elevate the voices of Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander women and girls in Australia's national conversation. Through storytelling and collaborative design it has uncovered and rewoven the rich, painful and powerful narrative of our planet's oldest matriarchal lines. In joint effort with the Australian Human Rights Commission and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner June Oscar, this story was transformed into a blueprint for the future and transformative positive change through the Implementation Framework Report that was published in 2022.
