In honour of International Women's day, I wrote a letter to myself - #DearDoriam
"It would be stupid to write a list of regrets; I wouldn't be the same person I am today. So instead, I'm going to acknowledge my ongoing growth, from my earliest memory up until yesterday. "

"These mere titles my women have acquired, could be used to silence entitled men and inspire young girls & women, especially those of colour. 
The strength of the black woman has been amplified tenfold for me through the successes of these women, in both their professional and personal aspirations."

I wish I embraced this at an earlier age because the emotional and psychological trauma I had to endure on top of the physical torment made this aspect of my womanhood that much worse."
