WOMAN UP

  • GEORGIA HOOLEY

Women are trained from a very young age to be as visually pleasing as possible. We are expected to look and behave in certain ways. We are pressured and encouraged to strive after the idealised appearance as seen in conventional representations of female beauty; but we are being lied to. Societal oppression and misogyny towards the female may have reached its pinnacle in historical periods, yet, the generic and outdated ideology of how a woman should compose herself has been recycled into modernity. Inspired by the incredible diversity of women, WOMAN UP challenges the generic sexist ideology by channelling misogyny into potency. WOMAN UP encourages celebrating being a beautiful, empowered female human with a role to play.
