I wanted to tell the stories of women who have played an important political, artistic or scientific role but have been overlooked by institutional history. I started the account @womenhistoryforgot as a side project but got passionate about the relationship between the image and the biographical description. The research I am conducting to write concise yet properly sourced biographical captions is pointless if the image does not manage to grab the audience’s attention. This project has built up my desire to work in a position in which I would have to consider similar problematics.
