This is a creative non-fiction piece for Smple Media. It was based on my experience working in a private investment firm in Ukraine. It dwells on the humourous and bizarre elements of ex-pat life while examining the unique experience of teaching the super-rich.
For my ten-month tenure at his investment firm, I was never really ‘on the books’. My Ukrainian visa was registered under a beautician’s company on the other side of the city, and every month I would receive my wage in a blank white envelope.
