Wroclaw Old Train Station

The area in Wroclaw Swiebodzki is very wide: it is extended for
almost 2 km, crossing the urban territory from its downtown
to the near countryside. In fact the space in its dimension can
be divided into three main areas, different for features and
relation with the sorroundings, in which the project must be
integrated and be affirmed.
The first area we pointed out is the one characterized by the
rail path, far from the principal entrance and from a strict
contact with urban context. Here nature is the protagonist and
makes the space more hidden and reserved, used by sellers
without fixed stands.
The center of the entire area (between the shelter and the rail
path) is the one related to the project of dot market, a kind of
market place dedicated to the weekly markets and suitable
to host a various number of sellers. By the way, the space is
organised in order to offer people coverings and strucures
which can increase the general comfort and to give people
basic elements to use for resting, eating in the open air, chatting,
meetin, etc. The last area one of the shelter, which starts from
the entrance till the end of the old structure. This area is perfect
to host some commercial acivities like the permanent shops
and their declinations. This space is projected towards the
urban downtown and so more accessible to every inhabitant.
In this way, the functional landscape seems to integrate itself
to the geographical and human one; this is characterized by a
series of contrast and contraddiction which can be perceived
once you walk through the entire space.
