Nowhere fast.. YOHKUL, the phonetic spelling for yokel (an uneducated and unsophisticated person from the countryside, Red neck) .I had recently read a book called ‘Shoe Dog’, It’s a book about the creation of NIKE and Phil Knight, its creator. In it you learn Phils love for running, and why he ultimately created his own brand. Do something you love. YOHKUL is my NIKE... Everything I would want in a brand, it is. Its about going head first without looking, being reckless and a cowboy. It’s sketchy hand rendered style embodies for me, all of these things. Combining two of my passions, snowboarding and surfing, into one cohesive story. Its also an outlet for me to try new creative things and interesting packaging methods, limited edition t-shirts, which is where the sushi roll t-shirts come in.
