Customised Labelling for Don Julio & Captain Morgan Brands

When the Diageo marketing team came up with the concept of personalising bottle labels for some of their leading drinks brands, they turned to us to realise their vision.

The concept was simple: at locations around the world, such as airports and launch events, provide an application that enabled buyers to create personalised labels to replace the standard ones.
The realisation was more complex with the need to cater for multiple labels per brand (sometimes up to as many as 20); incorporate custom fonts; restrict the use of bad language and allow per label adjustments to accommodate different printers and the length of names etc.

Initially we undertook a full review of the requirements and defined the user experience and an updated UI design for the Baileys brand. We then developed a native iOS application to run on Diageo iPads.

The project has since been expanded to incorporate similar applications for both the Captain Morgan and Don Julio brands. Together with the expansion and in line with a growing number of Diageo staff using the applications globally we were asked to create a user’s guide and provide ongoing support and maintenance for the applications.
