The essence of this project is to create oases within the city; workstations, side tables, dressing tables, and cabinets to help people arrange their physical or mental clutter, allowing them to be poised and ready for what the city might throw at them next.
The surfaces are designed for the work space; some surfaces interact with each other, allowing for collaborative work whilst others are designed to shelter an individual from the rest of the world. This was an interesting project for me to explore, as expansive as the phrase “taking your work home with you” would indicate, the pieces had to work in both an office and home environment, it was also important that they could be easily taken apart and reassembled without tools.
