Any advice about education in the design field? I want to change the direction from marketing, which courses can you suggest? Thanks a lot!

  • @Olena Rud no reason why you shouldnt then! It doesnt matter what country the courses are in. Having said that, some courses ive seen are as low as $10 on some websites (domestika for example). So you check them all out and weigh the value :)
  • @Nassib El Mourabet thank you! what if I know very good ukrainian courses, they are quite expensive for our country but for uk they are very okay, to compare.
How do you think if everyone still looking on my portfolio, may I complete them as i am sure they are very good? Or it is important to complete something international as uk courses, for example?
    and thanks again!

  • @Olena Rud Absolutely no need to spend money on uni when you can pay much less for specialist courses. It is crazy what you can find and what you can learn online today. I for one have been working for 18 years and never been asked for my degree! Also as others have mentioned before, learned more from a few short courses than i did in 3 years of uni.
  • @Nassib El Mourabet thank you, I've checked unis but I think in my current situation I cant effort any uni, and it takes ages, because I need to start from colledge in UK (I am from Ukraine, our universities are not acceptable here) so i am more into 6 month -1 year courses to continue my education in the design field
  • @Ionut Daniel thank you for your answer, i've already started to learn UX/UI design, and did a few projects, but then I've stucked with a high number of applications for the job positions, and to be honest, I was really scared of this. Now I am thinking between learning the graphic design and brand Identity or to continue learning of UX/UI design.

  • Hi Olena, depending on what design field you want specifically, there is a ton of resources out there, from specialized intensive courses like automotive design for example, to UX and UI courses, and much more. Check out online universities/institutions/schools but not only the traditional type. There are courses out there just as effective, if not better than traditional uni courses. Available to help out in any way.
  • I've only ever heard amazing things about Central St Martin's short courses! Some people I did my BA with there said they learnt more on a short course than they did in a year!
