Any advice on how to get an entry level job in fashion as a stylist or even assistant, without degree or experience?

I'm originally a pharamcist with managerial exerpeience and currently work as an account executive in healthcare advertising however I've always dreamed of working in fashion. I am considering completing a degree however I want to try my chances with my passion first and see if I can get a foot in the door that way.

  • I had a degree in English Language and creative writing, moved to London and dm'd loads of stylists and started assisted them and I have built up so much experience.
  • Look through the mastheads of every magazine you're interested in working for then send an email with your cover letter and cv to the most "approachable" person in each magazine (not the editor, try assistants) you should start off assisting and just work your way up, do some freelance and model tests on the side to build your portfolio too! hope this helps :)
