- Like with anything, getting better at something like web design/graphic design takes a lot of hours and hard work. You get out what you put in. Set yourself industry style briefs that will attract the type of clients you want to work for and the type of work you're happy to do. https://briefbox.me is good for finding briefs to work on :)You learn by doing, not necessarily by watching youtube tutorials. Learn from other designers also, look at what is winning awards. When you feel your portfolio is in a comfortable place, ask design directors if they are happy to offer advice!
