Anyone can help with how to start a career in Rights or PR within the publishing industry in these times?

Hi all,

Lili here. :)
I was wondering if any of you have some top tips or advice on how to get my feet in the doors of publishing. I'm currently doing my master's in English Lit (part-time, one class a week online), and have a full-time job in hospitality. I'd like to get some work experience, maybe volunteer or find an internship related to the business side of publishing, specifically the Rights or PR departments.

One of my issues is that most internships I found are a few months long, and given the current state of the world, I'm scared of leaving my fix position (and I cannot take a three-month long vacation either) for an uncertain internship that might not end with a job.
I'm a bit unsure of applying for full-time jobs: do you think with my master's still going on I would be considered for any role?

Nevertheless, I would very much like to spend my free time doing something useful and learning about an industry I am really-really excited about.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thank you for all of you,
Stay safe,
Stay awesome,
Lili
