Design Research Question

I recently started exploring Google trends a bit further. In case you are not aware of Google Trends, it is a very powerful website that shows you what you what the world is searching for. You can slim it down to countries, cities, etc. and investigate words that are losing and gaining value. Google Trends is a great tool for researchers.

I have been conducting research in regards to the Saudi design industry for several months now and although when you start you have one destination in mind the journey will take you down several paths along the way, hence this article.

Something interesting is occurring in Saudi Arabia. The term “design” has been going down over the last 5 years. This is particularly interesting when you think about this immature industry starting to grow and even having events like “Saudi Design Festival” this past year that spark people’s curiosity.

I took some time to ponder on this topic and thought that maybe people were still confused between art and design in Saudi Arabia, but the data proved that art was suffering even more so than design.

So while this was written to convey facts, information and unbiased perspective, I would now like to request your opinion to go down a new path on this topic.
