Does anyone have experience with YouTube's Shopping affiliate program on client/brand channels?

My client has been approached by YouTube to let them know one of our new channels is eligible to join the Affiliate program.
They are a global brand with products available in retail stores so naturally they're very keen to take advantage of this both to further monetise the channels and to sell product.
Previously we've exclusively run Made for Kids channels for this client but this new channel is a more adult audience so we're unlocking new features that we've not previously tapped into.

Does anyone have experience with this from a channel management side?
Would love to pick your brains so we can go back to the client as informed as possible to discuss next steps.
