Does anyone have pointers for grants/support for producing a short animation?
I am planning on making a 10-15 minute animation about covid induced parosmia and the implications of skewed/lost scent for mixed ppl / ppl who are living away from/estranged from their homeland/s. It will be a hefty amount of work so I am looking into applying for grants/support/funding to support myself whilst making it, and also to be able to pay a sound designer, colouring/clean up animators to help out etc.

- Hello Mina,You should check if the country where you live has a film fund. If yes they should have financial support for features and shorts, both animation and live action. According to the country the process in order to apply changes, most of the time you will need a production company to back you up. Some countries also have regional support for art and culture and you can apply also to those. Once you get your national support you may look for international co-productions, this means thatr you can reach out other prod comapnies that will apply in their own country for founds, if this happens you have to split the production, for example I m doing most of my film in Portugal but 3D in Spain. When you apply for a financial support you may need to provide also a financial plan, that justify the amount of money and how this is going to be devided. To apply for the spupport you generally go through a pitching process and hte creation of a dossier. The dossier needs to run al the aspects of your film and give to the commission a good overview of the film, its value and how/why is important to create it.Having some pre agreements of letters of interest could also help.hope this helps you.A.
