Following the uprise of BLM and promises of fashion companies to hire candidates from BAME backgrounds, how has this been honoured?

Is there any evidence published in the public sphere showing those same companies who made those promises, are honouring their word and are actively recruiting and hiring candiates from BAME backgrounds and those who are heavily underrepresented in their field of expertise? I would love to be more enlightened.

  • Hi Hasina,

I know you asked this question quite some time ago, here is an article on Harpers Bazaar but in summary nothing has changed at all! Brands simply virtue signal pretending not to be racist as they dont want negative publicity or a drop in sales then do absolutly nothing to change the status quo, although some may offer to feature r highlight black creative but never book or hire them and pay them the same as white counterparts.
Sad but no one who is black is surprised.
