Freelance Senior Graphic Designers! How much would you charge to design a 50-page annual report?
I have been approached by a charity based in the UK to design a 40-50 page annual impact report. Not sure whether to charge a daily rate or package the project as a whole. Any advice would be appreciated :)

- Minimum £2k - Charities have money. Cost it up, like any other job. Will they be supplying stock/illustrations etc will you have to research imagery on top of the editorial design?
- It depends on a number of variablles. How long is a piece of string? Not meaning to be awkward, but you need to ask a number of quesstions to the client in order to assess the variables before giving a fixed price quote. Even as an absolute master of your craft. Be careful. Give an inch, expect for a mile to be taken. Trust an older, more grizzled member of the creaative community!
- Hmm I think its worth to count how much time would 1 page take you? Lets say 1 page - 1 hour. I think it might be alot of time for 1 page but sometimes if its text heavy it could take this amount of time or if its more editorial design. Going further, I would add to this calculation time for amends. Also, time spend on cover designs. To sum up, let’s say around 50h for brochure + 10h amens. Count as much you take for an hour of course :) hope it helps. Of course, this can also be done as one fixed price but I guess hourly rate works better for me to access.
