Happy to share with you that we are opening the first free cinema school in Spain. You can find the info (with a translator) at EACine.es
The open film school has the mission of offering a film workshop/laboratory to 12 students without the financial resources to pay the high costs of studying film in Spain. To offer them a quality education, and thanks to the support of several Industry Professionals, we have created a Crowdfunding that has Film Masterclass rewards at very affordable prices.
What is the EAC?
The Open Film School arises as a response to a social problem: since the 1970s, the proportion of working-class artists has been reduced by half.
One of the reasons is access.
The film industry in Spain (and probably in the world) continues to grow, but access to training seems to be only available to those who can afford the high costs of studying film.
With the EAC we want
To create a FREE film workshop/laboratory to train 6 screenwriters and 6 directors without the financial resources to pay for a Master's degree.
To create an Online Masterclass Archive of Industry Figures for those who support the project with donations.
To form a Community with free access and open to all independent filmmakers.
The first three speakers
We are happy to confirm the collaboration of three of the most outstanding professionals in the industry who, despite being very busy, want to support this project by generously sharing their experiences and knowledge with us.
Screenplay: Isabel Peña
Isabel is the winner of the Goya 2023 for Best Original Screenplay for As Bestas, and the Goya 2019 for Best Original Screenplay for El Reino.
Casting: Blanca Javaloy
Blanca has been the casting director of the award-winning La Ruta, which has triumphed in the
Feroz Awards; from True Story Spain; and Two Years and One Day, among other projects.
Direction: Borja Soler
Borja is co-creator, scriptwriter, and director of the series La Ruta, which has received the Feroz Award for Best Drama Series, and the Feroz DAMA Award for Best Script for a Series. He has also been the director of two episodes of the Riot series.

- What a wonderful achievement, huge congratulations on getting this far to helping film students achieve their goals! Inspirational!
- Great! I have been working as a Casting Director for 30 years but almost entirely within advertising (commercials, print campaigns, content etc) but recently I have been doing a lot of music industry projects.... I have had an amazing career and have a podcast giving out info regarding the film/entertainment industries and how to break into it. I was also a model agent for many years too... if I could offer another side to Casting from your Casting Director who does mostly film/TV. I have done some (Absolutely Fabulous etc) but it's not my thing as I specialise in street casting & authentic Casting. Shout if this could be useful.
