Hello all. I am going to be in London from the 7th to 31st of October looking for work experience and to make connections.

I have experience in photography and some previous work experience in picture research/ editing. Ideally I would like to start a career as a picture researcher but I am genuinely open to going down a different career path in a media related role if the opportunity arises. I have contacted a lot of different newspapers, magazines and publishers asking for work experience but so far I have not had any luck.
Does anybody have any advice on who or where to contact, or if there are any networking events for people trying to start out in the industry? Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.
