Know what you’re getting into - research and speak to those that do the role already. Out of curiosity why UX and not UI?

My advice is to work on personal projects and showcase them everywhere.

Tell your network - let EVERYONE know that you are a UX designer and they’ll start to think of you or send you roles (hopefully!).

Create dream projects from scratch...

The experience will help you when applying for UX roles, it demonstrates real interest
