Hey - could anybody advise on freelance day rates please? I'm just starting out as freelance & any ideas would be really helpful! :)

  • It's both country and position and industry specific.
Editorial designers can be paid as low as £100-£120 per day if you work for a publishing company, but as an editorial art director you can get as much as £400 if you are redesigning a magazine.
Advertising agency work can be £200-£400+ depending on experience and the kind of work you'll be doing. Artworking is lower than creative work.
I have no idea what UX/UI designers get but I think its in the £300+ range.
A lot of the time you don't get to choose, they have a budget for the position and its a case of except it or reject it.
  • Hi Michael, I'm in a similar position, trying to get all the forms in order to tackle the most obvious repeat questions. I've come across Hadeel Sayed Ahmad through TheFutur, and her minimum price list is a really helpful tool that I'm using to tailor to my own services.

    Hope this helps!
