Hey, could other creatives on here give me some feedback and some of my projects on here (the Dots) or here: https://www.instagram.com/bykai

I'm also looking to pivot into a creative role (preferably fashion based) but have no formal fashion background, any advice or opportunities?

  • Right try here, if you haven't already
    https://www.thefashionnetwork.co.uk/
    https://fashionunited.uk/tags/manchester-fashion-network
    https://fashioninstitute.mmu.ac.uk/people-and-networks/

I'd definitely pop an email regarding the event next week too, someone may drop out.

Target some companies you'd liek to work for, who are they?

Love the dip dye cardigan and on depop I'd love to know more about the cardigan, not just the process, unless I missed these details, it would be great to know what the cardigan is made of - did you knit it or source it, where from etc....? it is gorgeous :)

Good luck following uo some of the links
  • @Joshua Jackson Ah, its sold out, didn't see this, perhaps you could message her? or see when the next one is - her contacts or email are probably to be found somewhere ?? :)
  • @Joshua Jackson Will reply properly a bit later but for starters, this looks interesting and helpful

  • @Joshua Jackson
    Continuing:
Creative direction spanning from content creation to events looks interesting
  • @Linsey M hi Linsey,

First of all thanks for the feedback! I do actually have a breakdown here: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZGJoSatjU/

The pieces can be found here: https://depop.com/bykaijackson

    As for the other questions:
I don’t officially have a portfolio, aside from I’ve built on here, Instagram and LinkedIn
I’ve struggled to find any fashion focused networks- I’ve been to some creative networking events over the past couple of years but they tend be models, photographers and musicians
Do you have any suggestions on companies I could reach out to?
As for role: designer would be cool but I think some kind of creative direction (even at assistants level)
  • The Other Side Of Sunset - looks like a great shoot, love the pink cardigan (and would love to know where its from). Congratulations on the styling and shoot.
There are some big questions asked in the intro and will require time to answer ;)

Utangatta - love the word and meaning, the designs are excellent and 3% rule you've kept in mind too, all looks brilliant and are you selling the designs anywhere?

Do you have a portfolio? Can you look for fashion networks in Manchester? book a careers session somewhere? reach out to companies?
Which creative role at a company? designer? or other?
