Hey creatives! Looking for some feedback on my PORTFOLIO, and advice for making it into a Website.

I’m starting to make a Website (going the Adobe Portfolio route, since I already have to pay for the Suite).
And I’d love to get some feedback on both my works, and the way I present them, before working too much on the Website.

PORTFOLIO:

I just got out of Art School so obviously it’s just student works for now, but I’ve been working on some freelance projects I’m excited to add soon.

Be as honest as you need!

  • Really nice visual language! What‘s difficult to read, is the text in the white ribbon on the bottom - it is too small for me! Very professional photos and also the compositions are great! I did not know how to make a inDesign-portfolio for public view! When you mentioned Adobe Portfolio, I thought of the mini-websites one can create (also included in the Adobe CC suite! - that is what I used on my portfolio-Website www.fabiopontoni.at - with an integration of my behance-profile, so one can comment on each work…probably only people who have their work on behance themself might use this feature…)

All the best!thank you for sharing your work!

  • Hey! Great body of work! 👏🏾
Love the how it’s presented. I think the only thing missing for me is a brief intro about the project, and explanation about your creative solution. It gives your viewer (in this case future employer or client) little bits of insight into your design thinking and problem solving capabilities.

As far as making it a website, you can just use something real simple for now - I.e square space (I think they have student discounts if you college card & email are still active). It’s simple to use and really cost effective. Later down the line, you can build a custom one (either hire someone or use a Wordpress template and build one).

I think the work is great!! :) if you want any more help I’m happy to help.
  • Hi there, so to get straight to the point, overall the presentation of your works and the works themselves is great! I think the content is really really good. I guess the only thing for me (and this is really just an opinion and something very minor) is the type hierarchies of the headings across the bottom of each project. While the information about the material, format and font etc. is definitely important, I am not sure if they should be on the same level as the title, year etc. on the left side. I just feel I don't know where to start reading that information as it is all equal. It might be something as simple as making the font thickness thinner. I am sure you can figure out a simple to way to address that. But as a whole the work is really strong! Keep it up. xx
