Hey guys! Just want to ask a question to fellow music industry people - what is required to build a fanbase e.g. email list, website etc?

  • Brilliant! Just want to say thank you for taking the time out of your day to read and answer my question☺️ If you would like to find out more about what I do and post, here are my socials all in one link here - https://linktr.ee/ConnorPearson_Official ☺️
  • Hi! For music business, you should have your music available on Spotify, Youtube and/or Soundcloud, and tell your fans about it. Website is a must, but most of the action will probably be at Facebook, insta or other social media platforms.
Remember to keep a dialogue with your fans, and make them your ambassadors. Good luck!
  • Agreed re. the mailing list - make sure you're putting out plenty of good content on social and let people know that they can get extra exclusive content by signing up to the list - exclusive videos, interviews, advance information on shows/tickets etc.
  • Hey, I think a good looking website is always great for centralising work. Depending on budgets & Genre (Branding) - check out music glue if you want something (free) or a more pricy plans and creative control via Sqaurespace/Wix etc.

I built my label website on squarespace (www.chalkpitrecords.com), but i require a lot of back pages and storage. For an artists you could really get away with a one pager with links to all releavent platforms.

Collecting email lists is a great marketing tool still yes for direct marketing, however getting people to sign up will probably require some graft, as you will need to add value or provid people with an insentive, what can you give away for free in return. I think this will always be a progression in a musical career.

Releasing consitant content on FB/INSTA is a great place to start though. See what works for your genre, what are artists doing that you enjoy and proven successful. Live Streams, Video clips, Insight to the processes or artists life. Theres loads you can try out. Just see what the market is doing and just manipulate the concept for your own audinece :D

    All the best,
    Silas
