Hi all - I'm a creative pivoter and have moved from theatre into product design. Advice on how to break into this new industry in my 30s?
I'm 32, and I have gained incredible experience managing different people and work streams. Though I have a lot to learn in the digital product design space, I'm not a newbie when it comes to working in teams and generating business.
Ideally, I'd like to get a role in which I learn, but hopefully not at the very bottom. What do you think is realistically possible to look for job wise?

- @Magdalena Marczewska Amazing advice, thank you!
- I also switched my career to product design, I was 26 back then. I recommend building portfolio and cv which are highlighting how your skills from previous positions would translate to your desired role. Try to highlight what is special about your background and why it makes you an unique candidate. Explain what you can offer and what they will gain by hiring you. Then I would email smaller agencies startups (not only apply to job postings). It will make you stand out from the crowd and you will avoid too much competition at first. You can also research and consider agencies which have clients from your background or similar background. Or startups which goal is tied to something with theatre or similar. This is what I've done when I got my first job and then progressed from that role in the company.Good luck :)
