Hi guys!! I’ve taken up digital drawing as a hobby and wondered if anyone had any advice on how to get better?
(I use procreate for this)

- Hi Abbie, I used Skillshare to improve my drawing skills on Procreate, there's hundreds of amazing tutorials on there from amazing artists and illustrators. I hear good things about Domestika as they have classes run by world renowned illustrators. I've not used it yet but might be worth checking out. These streaming services need a monthly subscription but it;s worth the money for what you get out of it.
- @Aiman Ishak I’ll definitely learn to do that more
- @Shiquerra Clarke that’s perfect advice I’ll keep going with it
- @Jacqueline Colley didn’t think about that I’ll have a look into it
- @Alexandra (Lex) Hearth that’s great advice thank youuu
- @Kevin Hadima I’ll have a go, thank you so much for the advice ☺️
- @Kyra Borella thank you so much I’ll definitely try that
- Experiment and play around with the different brushes. If you’re tryna get neater lines practice going over the same line or stroke so that you’ll familiarise with the motion
- “Every habit and faculty is formed or strengthened by the corresponding act – walking makes you walk better, running makes you a better runner. If you want to be literate, read, if you want to be a painter, paint… " - Epictetus - the more time you spend on it, the better you'll get! X As echoed below, one way to improve is to try and recreate things you like, and you'll find your style along the way
- Skillshare could be good for learning techniques from other artist's but basically it's clocking up the hours, practice makes perfect! :)
- A lot of practise and figure out what style works best for you. Gain some tips from other artists via Instagram and watch some of the videos on how they blend colours, it’s quite similar to hawing photoshop. And do not take it seriously just have fun with it and the different textures, brushes and pens.
- Consistency and Critique.Always be consisten with drawing, sometimes it seems like you won't be making much progress but trust me. You'll reach a certain point where you'll look back at your older drawings and realize just how much you've grown.Critique. You can't grow without knowing what you can improve on and the best way to know what is lacking is to ask for feedback from other artist.
- I would to just keep practicing and not to compare your work with other’s who are at later/ more advanced stage ( which is easier said than done).
