Hi! I am looking for a London based experienced Documentary Editor with artistic flair pref with knowledge of the black Caribbean community

Question

We have shot some of the documentary - with a lot of beautiful moments by the main protagonist. We have a storyline and some legendary people to interview who are also part of this extraordinary and beautiful account of the resilience of humanity. Its a small budget production but with huge aspirations and heart.
We now need an experienced and skilled editor for this feature documentary to collaborate in helping mould the remaining threads with pre-shoot interview points for consideration for an easier final editing experience.

We are looking for someone who thinks outside of the box to help with a different kind of artistic rendition and vision in its delivery, look and style. Something that 'pops' within its context - memorable but grounded and understated. Politics, poetry, music, archives past and present - footage, photographs and new interviews are important elements to be used in the mix for the edit.

The documentary is the personal story about Jessica and Eric Huntley. The historical backdrop is the 1953 coup in British Guiana (now Guyana) - Eric and Jessica Huntley set up one of the first black publishing houses in the UK and platformed some extraordinary talent during a time when these platforms were not in existence for the black community. They also had a bookshop that became an important community hub which doubled as a Citizen's Advise Bureau for problems faced by the black community with education, the police, housing etc
The Huntleys and their tight community to this day, became an important part of a wider political movement in British History and an important story for us to tell.
